Chicken curry as food is one of the favorite dishes on Sunday for me and my family. I am sure many more families have craving for it just like mine. My both kids love this dish served with rice. One can even eat with bread or roti. It is hot and fragrant and is made with roasted spice. Most people love eating Chicken curry for lunch or dinner. 1 kg chicken contains 27 g of protein, vitamin B and maintains healthy cells in the body. It contains minerals and low in cholesterol. It is healthy, good and full of taste.

CHICKEN CURRY

So many people as is chicken good for health? My answer is yes….!

INGREDIENT:

  • 3 green cardamom 
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 black cardamon
  • 3 black pepper
  • ½ tablespoon cumin seed
  • ½ tablespoon coriander seeds
  • 2 Dry Kashmiri Red Chili
  • 1 ½ cup onion fine chopped
  • ½ tablespoon ginger
  • ½ tablespoon garlic
  • 1 fine chopped tomato
  • ½ cup of curd to marinate
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • Red chili powdered
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 ½ tablespoon of butter
  • 1 kg of chicken

METHOD:

In a bowl take the chicken and add ½ cup curd, salt to taste, red chili powdered and mix it well. Set aside while you prepare the masala for the curry.

In a non-stick frying pan add 3 green cardamom, 3 cloves, 1 black cardamom, 3 black pepper, ½ tablespoon cumin seed, ½ tablespoon coriander seeds, 2 dry Kashmiri red chili, 1 ½  cup onion finely chopped, ½ tablespoon ginger, ½ tablespoon garlic, and dry roast till it is brown on a low flame. See to it does not burn. Once it is done allow it to cool. Now but the roasted spice in the grinder with 3 tablespoons of water and grind it into a fine paste. In a pressure cooker add 1 ½ tablespoon of butter and allow it to heat on a low flame. Add the spice paste and keep stirring unit fragrant and well cooked in butter. Add red chili powdered and tomato and stir it well and allow it to cook for 5 minutes. Add marinated chicken pieces and stir until spices paste is mixed well with chicken. Add ½ a cup of water to thin out the mixture for more gravy. Sprinkle salt to taste and add lemon juice. Stir it once again. Add a few more water if needed.  Cover the lead of the cooker and keep it for 2 whistles. Open the lid, stir once again, remove it to a serving bowl and garnish it with fresh coriander leaves.
